Weird

I am not sure what is going on with Kalen. I am thinking he must be hitting a big growth spurt. On Saturday he was super cranky at his great-grandma's 90th birthday. I felt so bad for him, you could tell he was SO tired but there was way to much going on for him to sleep. When we finally left he crashed.

We then had dinner with M's mom and sister to celebrate M's 28th birthday and Kalen was either sleeping or crying. When we finally got home for good Kalen passed out at 9:45 and slept straight through to 7am and then went back to sleep after his morning bottle until 10. We were supposed to go to a family reunion on Sunday but with the way Saturday went we decided that Kalen needed us to stay at home and just hang out. He ended up sleeping a good portion of the day and falling asleep around 10pm and slept right through the night.

Once again today, Monday, he slept most of the day. He was up for about 45 minutes to an hour at a time, then sleeping for an hour or two. He drank all of his bottles dry, for the last few weeks he has been leaving close to an ounce in each so that is a big thing in itself. He also has had some minor diarrhea, nothing to crazy but he has had poop at every diaper change today and they were not very nice looking.

I am hoping it is just a growth spurt. I keep checking his temperature and it is normal so lets hope this growth spurt passes soon.

Oh what a difference one year can make

This is the first positive test we had ever gotten. Hard to see the second line but it is there.

July 31st, 2009 was the best day of my life, up to that point anyways. That is the day we found our we were expecting a baby and that our dreams were finally coming true.

It has been one year since then and boy how life has changed. Kalen is such a good baby and we are so blessed to have amazing people in our lives that not only love us but love our little boy to death.

I was so sure on that day one year ago that life was playing some horrible trick on us and we were not actually pregnant. It turns out that that line turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to us.
As you can see I had a very hard time believing that we were actually going to be parents. We got our first positive pregnancy test on 11 days past ovulation which is really early so I had to keep testing.... I actually tested everyday until 15 dpo just so I could make sure the second line was still there..... hahaha

Motherhood and parenting in general can be a trying time but it is all SO worth it everytime he smiles or belts out a huge laugh. He is amazing and we love him.

Kalen had is 4 month well baby visit today and he is getting so big! He will be 4 months in 2 days and I can not believe how fast time is flying by!

Here are his 4 month stats:
Weight: 13 pounds 3 ounces
Height: 24.4 inches

To compair his birth stats were:
Weight: 4 pounds 6 ounces
Height: 18 inches

He is now in the 10th percentile for weight and the 8th for height so he is growing well!

We have a jumper

Kalen loves the jumper. For a while now he very clearly has preferred standing over sitting. When he stands he gets his feet going and he just does not stop.

We have been putting him in the jumper for the past few weeks. At first he seemed kind of lost in it, confused about what was supposed to happen. We were only putting him in there every few days at first and for very short periods of time but as of late he has been going in every day for about a half an hour. He has really started to get his feet going when he is in there and it is so much fun to watch.

Here are a few pictures:

How many times

Life has been fairly stressful lately and I am having a very hard time. When do you stop thinking about others and start doing what's going to be best for you? When is enough enough? How many times do you have to say something before it's no longer on you? I am not sure where things are headed but I think we might be switching trains soon....

I'll take the knee thank you

Kalen has started to fall asleep so easily while M bounces him on his knee. It is so cute and so funny and I just had to share.

No thank you

What is wrong with some people's children?

Do NOT put your finger in my babies mouth! Wether on purpose or not DO NOT do it!

Kalen has discovered his hands and he loves to put them in his mouth. So while I know she was not meaning to put her finger in my child's mouth he was all for it and it disgusts me! I don't care if you are the cleanest person on earth do not do it.

Thank you :)
