8 months old

Kalen is all over the place now that he can army crawl. He is SO active and just does not stop moving. We are taking baby & me classes right now and it's so funny to see him with other babies. He is by far the most active baby in class. A few of the moms have commented to me about how he does not sit still and how much work he is. I do have a bit of envy, I wonder what it would be like to have a baby that is content to lay on he floor and play with the toys for a while or one that can sit on my lap for an extended period of time happily.

Kalen has almost mastered sitting on his unassisted. He does well until he wants something that is not within reach. When he leans to get whatever it is that caught his eye he falls over in that direction. I am trying to make sure there is nothing within close range of him but he has hit his head a couple of times. He has started to learn to brace himself when he is falling but sometimes it catches him off guard. Last night he was sitting unassisted in his room playing with a toy while I went to run him a bath and I could hear the thunk of his head hitting something. When I got back to him he was right next to his crib and had a nice mark on his forehead. It lasted for a few hours and you can still see a small mark today but he is fine. He was fine about 3 seconds after he hit it.

Kalen @ 8 months:
- sit unassisted
- army crawl
- 2 bottom teeth
- loves to move, move, move
- started to babble a lot more (up until now most of his communication he come in the form of a very loud shriek!)
- he hates getting his diaper changed although he does love being naked

We love you so much Kalen!!

Baby it's cold outside!

It's pretty cold here so Kalen has been getting bundled up when we go out. Let me tell you this baby is VERY warm blooded. He is always boiling when I get him undressed afterwards. Doesn't he look so cute???? Love him :)

My dreams have been dashed

I am sure every girl in her mid twenties to early thirties had at least once dreamt about becoming Prince William's wife. I definitely did and sadly I was well into my early twenties still dreaming. So to all of those dreams I bid you good night. It was fun while it lasted ;)

Twitter

I am not really sure I understand the point of twitter. Facebook, Myspace you can connect with people on them. Find long lost friends, have conversations. Not on Twitter so why are people on twitter?? Well I am still not sure so I figured I would join in and see. You can find me @kalensmama.

Healing

I had my gall bladder out about a week ago. I am feeling pretty good now but when I push myself I can still feel it. I was finally aloud to remove my bandaging yesterday and it was not fun. I removed it in the shower and it hurt! Things look pretty good I would say other then I think one of the incisions is not closed. I am also extremely itchy and was up most of the night because of it. I have my follow up with the doctor in a couple of weeks so we will see what he has to say about the one I think is open.

My mom has been with me for the last week and it is so nice. I love not being by myself all the time. I now that I am not actually alone as I am always with Kalen but I am a talker and I well it's just not as much fun talking to the little one that can't talk back.

I think M is going to miss my mom even more then I am. The last few days she has been making us dinner. I am not a cook, I can cook but I don't like to and I am just not very creative when it comes to cooking. M came home yesterday to ribs and rice and proceeded to tell me how he was bragging all day at work about his dinner that evening, he was so excited. Almost makes me want to start cooking for him so he can brag that his wife is cooking for him not his mother-in-law, ALMOST. I will admit that the ribs were awesome and did not bother my tummy (post gall bladder eating can be interesting if you are not careful).
